Christmas is coming!

That's what my kid is always asking me; Is it Christmas yet?, lol...

He wants it to come right  away. We made the Christmas tree last weekend and today we had a little Christmas-is-coming lunch, lol...
Oh, I thought the pics showed the tree but it's only in the back side so I have to make more pics of the tree itself, lol...
This is a closer view of my all time favorite Christmas table linen. I bought it the first year we had Christmas as a married couple and had used it since then. It's so special for me and soooo beautiful! I live in a street called "Flor de Pascua" that means Poinsettia so I adore having my home filled with them during the holidays, but now the plant itself but everything related (I am soooo bag with plants!)
My table setting during the holidays. Haven't got a holidays full china so I love to use my wedding one. I adore it and everytime I use it I feel like newwed, lol... It's Rose Garland from Royal Albert and I am so afraid now because it's out of stock now and hard to find one. But love it even more because of it, lol...
Lol... I love this enamelware from MacKenzie-Childs! I bought them in a huge sale they had and I LOVE to cook in them, even if it's a simple soup like we had today. It's so cute to put it in the table!
We had some "Secret" meat. It was called secret by the butchers as they always kept it for themselves because it was sooooo good. It's so greasy but sooo tasty too, lol... As always not the healthier is the tastier, lol...
And some Swedish potatoes with onions

We tried this malt-Christmas-beer from Ikea, but only Henry was brave enough to finish it, lol...

And, since I've been not blogging so much lately I have many pics to share. Here they are some of them...
First is this makeover I made with a twin set I liked so much but that doesn't fit me anymore, at least not like before, lol... I made the top smaller and the cardigan too but didn't make the sleeves properly, lol... I'll have to remake them but love how Celita looks like with it. There are some pics of her wearing it too.

Here's Henry and Celita trying sunglasses in the shop, lol... They always have a blast in the shops, the girls love them so much they make them feel so special all the time!

Isn't she lovely with her matching dress and coat? lol... She's here playing with this set of Carolina Herrera's new perfume. She opened and closed it all the times you can imagine... She spent half morning playing with it...

Oh, and yesterday Carlos celebrated his birthday with a barbacue party and I can't tell how much I ate! lol... Elma made the hamburguers with Jamie's recipe, also oven baked potatoes with fresh romero, OMG everything was so tasty I couldn't stop! (you can see me behind Carlos the first in the queue waiting for my burger, lol...)
HO, and here's the presentation page of the new Christmas Marie Claire Idees magazine. I found it so cute I had to share... I did read it while having one of the most expensive breakfast I have ever had! It was a shame to pay almost 7 euros for a coffee and a sandwich!
And this pic I just don't know why I like it os much but I truly do, lol... It's my baby with her sweet face!

Virgen de Guadalupe

I live in an island, I think I've said it before,lol... And my Dad is from the island in front of mine, it's called La Gomera. Every 5 years they take one little image of our virgin of Guadalupe and goes to the all the towns in the island. This year she slept in my Dad's town church so we went for the festivities. It was so fun because the kids enjoy it there so much. My parents made a big restoration of the house where my Dad was born and it is a pleasure to be there now. It's so cozy and you really feel you could stay there forever...

Here are some pics of the central patio. The photo of the entryway is so bad but wanted to share it anyway so you can get an idea. The first thing you find is the central patio and in the other floor is my parents room that has the great views of the mountains around the town.

This is the view from my dad's room

In the end of the patio you find the door to the kitchen
And near the kitchen there's this cozy bathroom in blue.
And then there's one bedroom and in the center room of the house is the "lounge" room, lol... It's where the TV is and we sit there talking, crocheting and "snacking" for hours, lol... And also in the big table in the kitchen where the breakfast last ages, lol...
For lunch and dinner we usually go to a restaurant near the house that's the best one in town and in the island I bet. Everything you eat there is special and even french fries are delicious! Sorry I didn't take pics of it... was busy eating, lol...
Oh excuse me for the bad quality of the photos but I forgot to bring my camera with me (yes I know... WTF!!) and I took  all these with my mobile phone and it doesn't have flash so that's the reason they're so blurry... lol... And also because I took the pics late in the afternoon so it wasn't a good light at all.
Well, here's the other bathroom in the main floor (it belongs to the room I stayed in with the kids) and also you can see a bit better the details of the classic canarian towels.
We had a blast in the room because we inflate Henry's McQueen car bed and he was delighted with it and so was Celita too, lol...She also had her crib there. That's why I didn't take pics of it because was a bit too full to show, lol...

And something I love from my Mom, she has a incredible good taste for decorating but this little armoire in her bathroom truly amazes me... I love all the details and even her cosmetics look much better there,lol...
And this is the view from my parent's room. Isn't the patio just inviting???

Well, and then in Sunday afternoon (we were there from Friday morning through Monday midday) The Virgin arrived in town and here's a bad pic but the only one I have from the moment when the people went to the town entry to receive her.
My DH is a bit agnostic and he didn't understand all the things around the Virgin image and all the paraphernalia but I really like it so much. We went in a procession from the entry to the church and it was so beautiful because all the way to the church you can see all the streets decorated and from the balconies and windows you can see all the quilts and laces hanging. The people put all their best fabrics outside to shows the Virgin all the beauty they can. And also for her there are people dancing and singing typical dances and songs from La Gomera and they play a local instrument called "chácara" that makes a "echo" sound so beautiful and so touching for all the locals. I got so emotional when the Virgin was coming into the church because my Dad's cousin Isidro is the best player I have ever heard, he has those big hands that makes the most beautiful sound you can imagine... And he wasn't there for the first time in years because his wife wasn't feeling good, and my Dad missed him so much as we all did. There's so much energy inside there and all the echo the vault makes that you can feel the "chácaras" beating inside you.
Oh my God, those are the times I thank my parents so much for the Faith they've let me know and all the Christian festivities they have got me to.
Here are the kids while we were waiting for our virgin of Guadalupe to arrive.
And Henry with Grandma!
Well, and Monday arrived and we had to get back in the ship to go home. These pics I took them from the ship and the town you can see is San Sebastián the main town in the island. Oh, and I think I forgot to say my Dad's town is called Agulo and it's so well known because of the great bakeries there.

We found our ship brother in the ocean, lol...
Henry playing with my mobile camera
And Celita here. She was so excited about the ship and everything she couldn't sleep and that's how she ended the trip, lol...
