Henry is 5!!!

This February 6th was Henry's birthday!
We asked him many times what gift he wanted and he only said he wanted his grandma to give him a new bed. So we went with him and Celita to Toys'r'us to see if he wanted also any toy... Of course, he did want some too!; lol...
On Friday he went so excited to school because he knew he would have a party there. Here they are on the way...
I prepared some cookies and muffins for the kids.

And a juice of course and then put these all inside these kraft little bags so that each kid could have his own "meal"; lol...
They're 30!!!!! lol... Both bags were full!
But look how happy he was in his class blowing his candles! God, I am so grateful to his wonderful teachers. They made a great day for him and also allowed me to enjoy it taking these pictures!!!!! I am sooooo grateful!
Look Henry's gift! He just wanted for his birthday a bed where he could sleep in the upper side and his sister "downstairs" lol... And here it is!!!!! We bought the Ikea Kura bed and we painted it with some Agatha Ruiz de la Prada colors. Then we asked our friend Javi at Looping if he could transfer some photos to the panels that came with the bunk bed and look what a great work he did! We are still amazed how cute the bed looks like! Now we have to make some changes in the room but Henry is so happy with his new bed and Celita is too!

Tadaaaaaa!!! Rainbow cupcakes!
I made the party favros bags with plain kraft bags and just add some stickers to it with his nae and date. I think they looked cute!; lol...
This is the inside of the bag, isn't a cute pic? lol... coloring paper, crayons, and tons of sweets!
He was sooooooo happy with all his friends during all his birthday party!!!!!!! Here's blowing the candles of his chocolate Spiderman cake!
Look what I found at the magazine counter of the British market!!!! I love Jamie's food and now I have got addicted to his magazine! Lovely!
In my crafty side of life I am crocheting grannies for a blanket I'd love to make for our tv room. I have many already finished and now I just have t make around 20 more and start finishing it that's the part I really don't like about blocks!, lol...

School's finished!

Oh yes, I know that I am a bit behind, lol... But this house has been so crazy after school finished and during the last week too. Last December 17 Henry had his school big Christmas party. It was so pretty with angels, snowmen, etc...

Henry and the kids had a blast there! After the show it was a buffet also and all the moms brought anything to eat. I made some peanut butter snowballs and also decorated-by-Henry sugar cookies (I can't believe I forgot to take pics of them!).

Look how cute the kids looked like with their fancy clothes on, lol... Despite how charming was my Mario Bros fabric backpack with all the toys and candies possible to keep Celita calmed during the show...
Wasn't it cute there? The teachers made a huge work with all the decorations!
Oh, and look Celita here; seconds after this pic she fall down the chair and it came over her too, lol.
Now tell me these balls doesn't look yummy!!!
They didn't want to pose for the photos but finally could make some fun ones, lol...
Oh, I haven't neither posted the pics from the Christmas-cards-making-process. Here is Henry eating his cousin Carlitos sent to us, a wonderful and yummy gingerbread man! What a tasty card! lol...
The kids getting ready for the card making process... Glues on hand, pens on hand...
I did printed a card with a wonderful pic of Henry and Celia together and then add some glue to it and Henry add the glitter... Celita was in the destroying process so she was a bit aside, lol...
Here's the card and Henry added some glitter to both buttons. It was so cute!

Obama & McCain

What a country!

I am not American, but the election day was almost worldwide. Because history was made yesterday, global history, global change.
I am not American and I don't know which one of them was better than the other and I don't even know which one of them would I have choose, but what I know is that here in Spain we do not have politicians with that high sense of what a nation is as McCain and Obama have.
Last night we stayed all night with the TV on waiting for the results. I told Henry that if my Dad were living with us, he would have wake up the kids and watch the TV with them in beds so that they could be part of History as well.
Around 4 or 5 am local time, everything was almost done and McCain gave his speech to his people. God, how much it touched my heart. He was talking like an American not like a winner or a loser. He called all his people to help Obama to make the nation better and bigger, he also referred personally to Obama's Grandma in a very sweet way. It really amazes me how the greatest pride is to be American and to be in service of the nation, not just to win or lose the election.
Obama's speech was also so inspiring. And maybe that's a word to define him; inspiration. He inspires change but also tradition. I am not American and I am white so I haven't ever had any racist's problems, but don't have to feel it to know how important is to have Obama where he is now. And it was now or never. And it had to be him.
McCain is so good man and good politician but Obama is Carl Lewis. Remember Carl Lewis? He was THE speed, and you could be the best running but you couldn't win Carl Lewis. I feel the same about McCain. Maybe he could have made a change too but not now... Not with Obama there.
I am not American but I want to say congratulations to all American people for that American Pride, congratulations for having those 2 candidates to choose from (believe it's a privilege to be able to choose between Moet Chandon or Veuve Clicquot instead of Coke or Fanta, lol...) it's a real privilege, congratulations for the change to come and congratulations for that love you all have to your flag, hymn and nation. And congratulations to both of the candidates; Obama because he could, McCain because last night he was the most elegant and pure gentleman I've ever seen.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you about this photo in this post. A friend of mine that makes printables always says a gift is not a gift if there isn't a chocolate inside... And I think the same but with posts and pics; A blog post is not complete without a pic, so I've decided to add this photo of one of Belle's printable sets. She's so patriotic so I've choose this set from her that's so related to today's American feeling!

Anniversary

Today's my 6th wedding anniversary.

I can't believe how fast has it all go! And it's fun because we got married the day of the Hispanity festivity; October 12, so we never have to go to work or school in our anniversary. Just enjoy the family!
I feel so lucky today I had to share. I am so sorry I know this has nothing to do with crafts or other things I post about i my blog but I remembered this layout I made last year and wanted to share this pic from our wedding day. I love that photo and I love to look at it and my eyes says everything. It was the happiest day of my life, even more than when my 2 children were born because I also had fear and pain those days, lol... But my wedding day was so magical...
I have always thought that all my related up in heaven moved all their influences so that that day could be just perfect! lol... I felt all the time they were there with us all!
It was a magic day and I just want that all that magic still with us forever! I can't imagine living without my DH and everytime I look at that photo I thank God for letting me enjoy life with him and our beautiful children!
Well, let's keep enjoying the day!
HUgs,
Celia

Marta's Wedding! Part 1

Lol... Yes, there's going to be 3 parts of this post, lol...

My cousin Marta's wedding has been the greatest family happening this year!, lol... So we've been waiting for this day soooo much! She's so lovely and her husband now is just adorable and perfect for her! So, we can only be soooo happy!
I was so excited for the wedding that I have 3 posts for it; one for the gifts I made for her, another one for the pics of the hotel we stayed in, and finally the party pics!
Let's start with the things I made for the honeymoon!
I sewed the same travel wallet I made for us when we went to Disneyland Resort Paris but using this wedding themed fabric from Michael Miller that I bought from equilter. I made the pattern myself and I'm so proud of it, lol... Made also a bussines card wallet to hold the hotel cards, 2 passport sleeves and also a travel tissue holder. And then I did also made some printables for them; luggage tags, bookmarker and the typical door hanger I always make for the just married couples, lol... The templates for the bookmarker and the luggage tags are from Belle

I filled the travel holder with a married couple's tissues that are so fun!
This is how the travel wallet looks when closed

This is how the passport holder looks like when closed
And that's how it looks when open, lol...
And finally, in this pic you can see it all together how I wrapped it like before sending it to them. I asked the hotel if they could leave it in their room and they did! I think it was a nice surprise!

I also made a little book filled with photo frames and lines where each of the guests could give them a little message. I didn't take pics of it and I know It's a big mess, lol... I used my pogo from Polaroid and I can't be happier enough with Henry for giving it to me for my birthday. It's the best! (Henry and the pogo, lol...)

I am 35 now!

Oh God, I can't believe I am 35 years old! When did this happen???? lol...

Well, there's no remedy so I have fo face that I am getting older and older and enjoy it! Guess that's the right thing to do, lol...

For this day I wanted a "petit comité" party. Just with my close friends and family. I made these cute invitations (using Mo Jackson art) and prepared a sweets, candies and baked goods only party! With coke of course! Then the boys opened the "barbecue-bar" when the sun started to go down and we stayed there until almost 10pm! With all the kids! And all located in my Dad's garden in front of our homes.

The party was organized to start at 5pm. While I was preparing the table, the buffet, the garlands, etc... I received the best present of the day; my brother, that was surfing in France, came as a surprise to the party! He was supposed to  arrive at night but took a sooner flight back! I was so happy when I saw his car getting inside the garden I started to run to him crying like a baby!, lol... I my God, how old I am!!!!! This pic was taken by DH from our home's balcony while I was crying and holding Chani, lol...

And also from the balcony he took this other pic of Chani, Henrito and me "embellishing" the party table, lol...
As party favors I made this little placemats with Ikea fabrics and using a mix of the picnic placemat and the regular one from Lotta's amazing book! And also made some matching coasters. (please ignore the &%&/%$%&/$ fly in the plate, lol...)
I prepared the table for everyone and then decided to leave a part for a buffet so anyone could choose which sweets and candies they wanted. We ate tooooo much! lol...

Julia prepared this beautiful salad that, also, was sooo good!, lol... But, don't you think it's a pity to start such a beauty?, lol...

Well, with everything ready to go I am also happy and ready to receive all my friends and have fun with all of them!
My Dad was so happy with my birthday and he insisted we wanted to come to the party and see me. He gave me a cropped jacket for present that's amazing. I'll post a pic of it because it's worth it!, lol... He's a delight and Celita adores him to death!
Well, we installed a pool for the little ones but look.... Only one "oficial-baby" inside, lol... Oh my God, the kids did really had fun yesterday!
Look at Celita's face! She was so happy!
Look how's Elmita enjoying the pool! Isn't the sweetest?
And then there was a bigger pool for the big children. Oh, they did have fun there! lol... Even at night they went again to the pool! lol...

Oh, I saved this pic here because it shows the bunting, pennant, party garland (all those names for the same thing, lol...) Click in the photo so you can see it bigger. I made using the Purl bee tutorial.
Here we are: form right to left, Elma, Elmita, Lisa, me and Celita. We have one photo like this from EVERY party we've been together, lol... It's like a tradition. I am so fortunate to have such a great group of friends. We're more than in the photo but the three of us we know each other since Lisa came from the UK to marry Juan Pedro. I bet she's more Canarian now than many born here, lol... I adore these girls so much and also my other friends in the party that aren't in the pic. I am so blessed I have them all and I'm nothing without them! Thanks God for letting me live so happily through these 35 years and let me live the same with all my big family here. Love them all!

At night again inside the pool!!!; lol...
The cake was a disaster! I made a three layer mocha-frosted cake but the frosting went bad and I had to "erase" it, lol... I bought one in the last minute and was disgusting, lol... Henrito was in the pool when Henry started to light the candles and he came with me all wet kissing me. He's so sweet! In the pic you can see his hair, lol... He blew the candles and went back to the pool with the rest of the kids. No one was brave enough to eat the cake, lol...
And here's the post-party effect. lol... When we got back home Celita laid down in the floor laughing and asking for her milk!, lol...
And Henry went to the sofa to rest while watching some cartoons. I think he didn't even see the start of it before falling asleep, lol...

It was a great day and a great party. I did enjoy it so much and I think I can not express all the joy I feel with such a great group of friends and family. I adore them all!
